Nigeria Judo Federation (NJF)
Nigeria Judo Federation (NJF) is a member-driven non-profit society that is initiated to promote athletics specifically judo among Nigerian youths as well as adults. It was introduced and formally inaugurated in Abuja FCT, Nigeria with the help of some foreign officials from different countries in the recent years.
This association helps to physical fitness by increasing muscular strength, aerobic and anaerobic capacity as well as such flexibility through judo sports and competitions which helps in identification of talents for advance development.
They also promote mass participation in sports from the basic level across the country and also promote ardent competition amongst the competitors under an atmosphere of sportsmanship and friendly interaction with a view to enhancing and strengthening one accord in the country.
The president of Nigerian Judo Federation Timothy Nsirim on his appeal to the federal government said the association needs financial support to make help them achieve their sole aim and take up their expenditure to help their new office function appropriately.
Nigerian Judo Federation has also made effort to participate in various judo tournaments following the caution that was given to them by an international judo referee, Alexander De Souza of Brazil.
Associations of Nigeria sports comprises of both the professional bodies and the amateur departments in various sports such as judo. The professional bodies seek to promote the interest of individuals and the public engaged in judo profession while the amateur is just a group engaging in judo sports on an unpaid basis.
Another judo association established in the country is Nigerian Amateur Judo Association (NAJA). It is a minor association of judo game that was officially inaugurated in April 1974.
